The Interactive is a dedicated space at FORWARDS Festival for community connection, cultural exchange, campaigning, and collaboration. Dive into a vibrant hub of workshops, stalls, and displays led by local charity organisations all designed to spark conversation, action, and connection. Come get inspired, get involved, and discover how community and collective action can drive real change.

We are proud to continue building and expanding the presence of The Information: Interactive at the festival year on year. In the past, we have had workshops, activities and experiences from groundbreaking social initiatives and campaign groups such as Bristol Rebel Elders (Part of Extinction Rebellion), Bristol Defend the Asylum Seekers Campaign, and Grrrl Zine Fair. A space for stalls, displays and stands to allow community connections, cultural exchange, campaigning and collaboration, The Interactive allows festival audiences to connect with a bigger, broader community.

THE INTERACTIVE FOCUSES ON:

  • Offering interactive, memorable and immersive experiences.
  • Giving our audience the chance to engage with charities and organisations they may not know about.
  • Leaving a lasting legacy outside of the Festival gates.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Interactive experiences, workshops & information that will help our audience connect to causes & initiatives that help build a better future.
  • Activities & experiences that are fun and memorable for all ages.
  • Organisations that have been part of FORWARDS before, and from groups that offer a fresh perspective that could broaden minds & horizons within the Information.
  • We want to give festival audiences the chance to creatively engage with topics of equity, diversity, inclusion & sustainability, with a focus on cultural exchange, local Bristol community, well-being & future-minded positivity.
  • We welcome & encourage applications from smaller organisations or groups that are new to running interactive activities and workshops. Your plan doesn't have to be 100% developed- we want to know if we can support and help you expand into this space.
